Spring is almost here! Time to consider the outside as well as the inside of your home. Your front yard says a lot about you. First impressions are important and that applies to homes too. If your home is well maintained on the inside, it really should be on the outside as well. Buyers see the outside first, so if they are turned off by that, it turns them off to the entire home. They might not even get out of the car to see how nice it is on the inside. Keep the grass mowed and the bushes and trees trimmed. Give the impression that the yard is not unruly. If it looks like a jungle and requires a lot of work, it will turn the buyers off. My suggestion is to hire a professional landscaping crew right before you go on the market. Get the yard cleaned up and trimmed. That way it is in control and will be easy to maintain on your own during the marketing process. If it is still difficult to maintain on your own, keep those professionals around to keep it nice until it sells. Plus, I think it is a good idea to buy a potted flower pot or two for the front porch to add that touch of color. Then when your home sells, you can take those pots with you and you have your first decoration for your new home!
