New “Homework” Assignment

Tips for selling your home.

The best way to make a buyer feel like your home could be theirs is to help them picture themselves there. By having too many personal items around makes that difficult. It is best to “anonymize” your home when you are trying to sell it. Take down the family pictures, religious items, and the artwork that defines you. Too much of that tells a story of how YOU lived there, and not how anyone else could… Make it easy for them to see themselves having a life there. PS. I have had a situation where my buyer was looking at pictures hanging on the walls of a home they were looking at to buy and noticed that she knew the seller, actually quite well. Ex-boyfriend and his new family! That buyer did not buy that house, but might have if it wasn’t for the photos.
