Let’s talk about something that seems little but can make a big difference. It is something that is often overlooked by buyers, most of the time because they didn’t even notice it was there. I am talking about closets. I know, very compelling, right? Closets are boring, but are important. Storage is one of the most important components of a home. I suggest to sellers to showcase the important components, so it makes sense to show off the closets! Buyers will walk right by a closet, sometimes they don’t know they existed until I open it for them. Seems strange, but true. When you have your home on the market, make sure that you leave closet doors open, show them off. Buyers are more likely to notice a closet that is slightly open. Also, it is a good idea to leave 25-30% of the closet unused and keep it well organized. This gives the impression that this closet is bigger than it really is. If the closet is disorganized and packed to the gills, it gives the impression that it isn’t a sufficient storage area. So wether it is a bedroom closet, coat closet or a pantry in the kitchen, show it off! The more storage, the better!
